Featured artist: Authentik - New R&B/Soul Recording Artist from NJ
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Authentik.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Authentik: I’ve always wanted to be an artist since I was younger. I started singing when I was 5 years old and continued throughout my years in school. It wasn’t until 2008 that I actively began recording and establishing myself as an artist. God called me into the art of music and I am fulfilling my purpose! I’m here to inspire, motivate and change lives! #TeamAuthentik
Make sure all your paperwork is in order when maneuvering through this industry so that business is handled appropriately.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I sing live and am in the process of performing at live shows!

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am working on my debut mixtape entitled ”Classified”, which will be released next month!
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes I would sign to a major! The pros are that the majors have all the resources and promotional backing to get you exposed to the world! However the cons are that you may be limited to creative control of your music and brand unless you sign the right deal!
Any last words?
I want to shout out my DCMG team for finding me on YouTube and working with me to help fulfill my dream! I also want to shout out Pam from Total who has always been so humble and encouraging towards me. She is a positive influence and I appreciate her soo much!
