Featured artist: Jimmy J-Ripp Edward - Where Else To Go But Up
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Jimmy J-Ripp Edward.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Jimmy J-Ripp Edward: Honestly, my mother. Her health and well being is the reason why I decided to take music to another level, not for the fame and money but to show her if you truly believe, we to can accomplish our goals and our dreams.
I got what it takes to change the game.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yea. I played live in my hometown (Newark, NJ) and New York (Brooklyn, Lower Manhattan, Christopher St.).
Best punchline you ever wrote?
I said, ”The time couldn’t be more right for me, most of these rappers sound all hyped to me, the way see it ain’t no need to get hyped for me, cuz’ where you standing lil’ bruh is where I like to be”.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m currently working on more videos. Projects I’ve done in the past wasn’t good enough to get noticed, so I decided to step my game up. I did release my first mix tape ”The Phantom of Hip Hop” on soundcloud.com/jripp973 back in 2006 – 2007.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah, but depending on what’s guaranteed for my future and career. Not saying I’ma blow up but if faith keeps pushing me in the right direction, who knows I might get signed to a major recording label. Oh yeah, I won’t sell out for anything, no matter what it is.
Any last words?
S/O to God, my mom, my family, friends, & fans. To my Management Group ”5TH Element Entertainment”, to my squad ”TeamElite/LoadZone Entertainemnt” and to you http://rapbeats.net
