Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist K.O Styles.
How did you decide to become an artist?
K.O Styles: I’ve always been singing melodies and rhyming along with making beats with my hands as a child, and have been doing so as time passed. As I was doing so, I became interested in the fact that my musical ideas became relevant to situations in real life, and my projection really grasps the peoples attention so went from playing around, to putting my mind into it foreal.
The best advice given to me was to never let someone else’s opinion take you off your own track.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I have done so, but I’m still new to performing so I try and do open mic as a practice for my styles, and how I express my words with body language.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
And I gotta bangs too, ain’t nobody teach me I just walked to the dessert, and got right wit ten kangaroos.
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m currently working on a mixtape. The title is Release Intake. The title pretty much speaks for itself. I have released material on soundcloud, reverbnation,Facebook,and YouTube.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No because I wanna see all my money back and control and own my material, but yes because they can get me the exposure, and proper sound and videos, and connections to more opportunities such as acting
