Featured artist: Young Z - Weird Musik
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Young Z.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Young Z: inspiration around me and the music back in the 90’s, and was tired of seeing my family struggle so I stepped up.
Always be yourself in your music, and never give up hope even if times are hard, because they will get better.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I do perform a lot, I’m about to tour with my label Weird Musik starting this month until the end of the year.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Im proud of u man lets talk stats lets talk numbers, I bet my album sales could buy your whole family supper. (Carrabas)
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am working on my new album ”O.E.I.L” Set to be released July 31st online everywhere and in person. I recently dropped a mixtape in March on HNHH.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
If that contract and money right and doesn’t try to change who I am, Im with it. Pros: money, fame, more shows and merch. Cons: could change you, ruin your image, or be a failure.
Any last words?
I would have to write a book for how many names I wanna shout out but mainly shoutout to my camp Weird Musik, my family back in Sioux Falls, the city Im living in now shout out to aurora and denver. And my engineer Jason at synectix studios for helping me put this album together.
