Featured artist: SKOK - Get to know SKOK
Skillz are pretty much irrelevant now a days. In order to achieve success you do have to be a master of your craft but remember its all about who you know… how hard you work…and how much money you have behind you.
Upcoming underground artist SKOK just answered some questions. Checkout the interview below and share if you like it.
Thanks for your time. How did you decide to become an artist?
SKOK: Music was always my passion…wether i was making it or just bumping it in the car…I started off young with ”Puff Daddy and the Family” and it was like as soon as i heard it, something clicked. Started joking around rappin about stupid things like we all do at first… and the pieces just fell together.. Not to be cocky but I was just so much better then everyone else it really made me connect to it…. I could keep a rhythm, make a melody..and make up my own flows.. it was dope. I knew from then on, that this was going to be my life.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I love to perform. Its our battle grounds..our arena.. this is where we get to show off everything we’ve been working on…and really connect with your fans. I have at least 6 live shows lined up for this summer. Stay Tuned!
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Fuck a punchline.. real bars always ”Im a damaged one for sure, you can see that, you can read that… I'm just tryna get my feet wet like I'm standing at the shore. vanished in a tour, the sound of cannons when its war, couldn't compare……. to the sound of my canvas when it roars”
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I am currently working on the album of my life.. That will be named and announced at a later date. I plan to release a 7 track tribute to hip hop ep sometime this summer along with my ”Delusions” mixtape september 24th. Stay tuned for New singles! I tend to drop a new one ever week or so.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
HELL NO. Unless i had full creative control, a hugeee Advance and low interest rate on the loan. People forget these labels are just banks. Good for nothing but eternal debt and exposure you may not get elsewhere. But with multi million dollar artists like Macklemore and Mac Miller why would anyone want to sign a deal anymore
Shoutouts and credits to the fam?
Sheeeyit, Shoutout to mi familia, AMG, BlackLine, TYB, Shade Gang and all of my beautiful fans, i love y’all. rest of em? Tell em keep bangin. – Higher Living. 845.
