How did you decide to become an artist?
Don Swayze: Initially, I didn't pursue music until my freshmen year of college. I realized I had more passion for music than I did for my books, so I took a leap of faith into becoming the artist I am today.
The best advice I ever received was to " do what you believe, and believe in what you do" My homie told me that.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
I play anywhere I get a chance! I love performing and interacting with fans. That's what I live for. How could you not want to perform? That's lame.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
"Kicking squares out my circle cuz I caught them shape shifting"
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I currently just released my highly-anticipated mixtape "ILL-ADVISED" out on datpiff right now, so please do go grab that!
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends. If the deal favors me, I would be more than likely to sign, but it all depends on what the label is offering you. Nobody wants to get themselves lost in this game. Gotta be careful about what you sign and who you sign with. Signing can be good in a sense of having marketing and promotion taken care of for you world wide, but at the same time, you have to understand the label has entitlements to anything you do.
