Featured artist: strange david - something strange
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist strange david.
How did you decide to become an artist?
strange david: Music has been a part of my life forever. I grew up on the beatles and old school shit my moms would play, got into metal when i was a young kid. I played bass in a garage band wit my cousin for a couple years. Wu tang is what introduced me to hip hop. I started writing about age 12. I started fucking around freestyling and recording shit in a homies basement when i was 16 or 17, and began to take it more seriously after that. Been in and out of the rap shit for 15 years now, life happening and dealing with it. But i always came back cuz its what i love.
an old friend once said you gotta do this shit for you. nobody will have your back but you. dj commando told me that.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
i hadnt been on a stage in mad years, and i had been on hiatus from the music shit til about a year ago. couple months back my boy rick noggle aka imperfekt was doin a show in lawrence kansas and i drove out thwre and he let me do a ten minute set during his set time. it was dope, reminded me how much i love it. def looking forward to doin more live shit
Best punchline you ever wrote?
