Featured artist: Sunnyblak - who is Sunnyblak
Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Sunnyblak.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Sunnyblak: My older cuzzin doe boy use to spit that fire everytime I used to go around him and my other cuzzin Scooby use to Dj while doe boy rapped on the mic!
So as I grew up watching them go hard at there craft I felt like I had to be a part of the hip hop movement so I bought my first composition book at the age of thirteen I started writing hooks first and a graduated to full songs .
I use to go around my cuzzins and spit my songs for them and they use to laugh and say that I needed more practice and use to get angry and call them haterz lol but as time went by in the early 90’s I got better and started cutting high school and rapping in cyphers in parks all around NYC my mom didn’t want me to be a rapper she wanted me to be a Dj so she bought me Dj equipment I use the equipment for awhile but then I lost interest in it because I loved rapping more and I got a better response as a rapper so I stuck with rapping and chose the name Sunnyblak aka son of a black man
the best advice given to me by my cuzzin doe boy was to be my self never bite anybody’s swagg
What about concerts? Do you play live?
yes I do concerts I’ve performed in P.A- N.C- S.C-NYC etc.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
I’m working on my new Mixtape called who is Sunnyblak reloaded it’s part #2 of my first Mixtape which was named ”who is Sunnyblak” now I’m reloading
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I rather stay indie but if a major wants to sign me they better be talking what I wanna hear and I’m not signing over my publishing
