Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist Frank Nitti.
How did you decide to become an artist?
Frank Nitti: ”I’ve always been a musician at heart, i started playing saxophone in 5th grade”. ”I guess the love for being a performer started there because they’re was a school play that year in which i played Dr. Martin Luther King which i did great in because i remember the audience response when we were done,…it electrified me to see and hear a response from such axhuge crowd”. The same year in the spring i played my first saxophone solo and recieved the same love if not more lol”. ”I remember my mom being so proud of the fact how many people were telling her i was gifted in performing”. ”It all turned into hip hop from me looking up to Ice Cube, 2Pac, EPMD, Redman, LL Cool J”. Dudes in my hood use to always tell me how good I was at reciting lines word for word and suggested i start writing myself”. ” I learned Doggystyle in 2 weeks lol”.” From then i joined the school circuit ( you know the local rappers at school that beat on tables lol ) and then it grew from neighborhood to city thing”. ”It just got bigger”.
Study, learn, innovate and own everything you do and always negotiate what your worth is, not what other people think it should be.
What about concerts? Do you play live?
Yes I love playing live the most cause it connects you to the audience more, you see the emotions in real timing.
Best punchline you ever wrote?
Horticulture expert, lets work/ greenery cropped by the finest grade/ procedure notable, hip hop quotable, kush cloud smelling like its lemonaide/ inhale to exhale medicine lettuce in the form but accompanied with THC/ gotta a nigga leaning rolling with a strut like a pimp coming straight out the P.A.T
What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?
Im currently working on my first independent LP entitled ”GOD’Z TALENT, DEVULLZ FAYME” on my independent label UGM MUSIC GROUP available on itunes this fall.
Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would sign with a major if the deal was fair. pros would be bigger access and backing, cons would be no total control but i’m educated with morals I stand by so i’d be cool with or without a major God’s will.
Any last words?
I’d just like to shout out all my friends, family and infuences. My homestate of New Jersey, Fayetteville North Carolina a.k.a ”Fayettenam” or the ”26” and Muscatine Iowa for showing me a more peaceful side to life.
