Below is a short interview with the upcoming underground artist K.Y.D Works.

How did you decide to become an artist?

K.Y.D Works: I started with poetry in elementary school, and from there it was a natural progression.

Never stop when you tryin to make it happen. Keep ya foot on the gas, ease up if you have, but never stop, because that’s when it’ll pass you by.

Yes, I have performed at The Delancey, SRB’s, SOB’s, Blackthorn 51 and more.

What are you currently working on? Did you release something in the past?

Working on 3 EP’s, my next mixtape is done, and I have a mixtape out now. Stress Test Vol.3 Hosted by: Tha Advocate

Last but not least: Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

No. The pros are imedite exposure, that’s if your not shelfed. The advance, which is just a big loan. And access to other major artist since you have a budget now.. In the end the majors are losing ground in many ways. Independent artist are on the rise, all it takes to be successful is the product, hard work, a great network, and a strong support team behind you. Nothing comes easy, but it is there if you are willing to work for it and never take your foot off the gas.
